Psychotherapy is simply "therapy for the mind". I think of our "mind" as a continual stream of sensations - feelings, responses, thoughts. Close your eyes for a moment and you will notice what is going on in your head, physical sensations - perhaps your heartbeat, what is around you. Sometimes, these inner experiences can become very distressing. They may be a response to a difficult situation or relationship, or they may be rooted in your past and keep on disturbing you, even though your the circumstances of your life have changed.
I understand that it can be hard to put experiences into words - they may sound odd or don't appear to make sense. As your therapist I would help you to explore and express these inner experiences so that together we can understand them, then find ways to help you live in a better way.
